Bath

County: Somerset

Famous for its Roman baths, Georgian architecture & Jane Austen

About:

Ah, Bath! Home to the famous Roman baths and stunning Georgian architecture, Bath is a UNESCO world heritage site. Stroll along the River Avon and admire Pulteney Bridge - one of only four of its kind in the world. Admire the architecture at the Royal Crescent, and discover the secret hidden in plain view at The Circus, and follow in the footsteps of Jane Austen.

Bath is a popular end destination for those arriving at Heathrow or Southampton and as such the tour is of other places eg Stonehenge or Windsor with the tour ending at your Bath hotel. But as a day trip, well that's a tricky one; it's a long way and Bath deserves a whole day to visit, in which case taking the train from London, Southampton or Salisbury is very convenient, and you wouldn't actually need me! But I do get many requests for day tours to Bath that I do now include one.

Need to know:

  • Without stops, Bath is approximately 1 3/4 hrs from Windsor or Heathrow, but traffic in Bath can delay us even further
  • On a day tour, you normally have 2 - 3.5 hours for a visit. I provide a short overview of Bath, and you then have free time to explore / have lunch as you wish
  • Tour price includes car parking but not admissions or meals

Options:

To combine with Bath: Stonehenge and Salisbury or Castle Combe / Lacock with Avebury

I do NOT do the Big Three: Windsor, Stonehenge and Bath in one day as I think it is too much to fit in.
