Starting from: Farnborough or Heathrow.
This tour is suitable for those staying in the Farnborough area, and Heathrow layovers arriving by midday, and with a layover of about 10 hours. Tour duration is between 6-7 hours.
We drive first of all to Windsor where, after a walk through the town you have up to 2 hours for an independent visit of the castle if you wish. Audio-guides in several languages are available, as well as knowledgeable docents in each room. At the pre-arranged time, I will meet you by the castle and drive you to Hampton Court Palace, passing by Runnymede (where the Magna Carta was sealed in 1215). Although the route is through built-up areas, there are plenty of tid-bits I can tell you about the area.
Hampton Court is a palace of ‘two halves’ - the tudor part where Henry VIII and his wives lived, and the Baroque half, designed by Sir Christopher Wren for William III and Mary II. You will have up to 2.5 hours for an independent visit.
On our return to Heathrow, we drive through the pretty Bushy Park, where you may see the deer roaming around, and the noisy parakeets flying above. If there is time, we can stop for a short while, visiting the woodland walk.
Price includes admission to Hampton Court Palace.
