Windsor Day Tours has developed out of many years’ experience of taking guests, foreign language students and friends on trips to Stonehenge, Winchester and Jane Austen’s house in Chawton, just to name a few.
I love showing off this beautiful country of ours and want to introduce to you, not only some of the main tourist hot-spots, but also those hidden gems so evocative of a different age - a taste of ‘real’ England.
Over the years, combined with nursing, I have taught English as a foreign language, hosted overseas’ school children as well as raising my own two who are now - dare I say it? - delightful teenagers.
Now that my family is getting older, I wanted to combine my love of visiting places with the satisfaction I feel when I know my guests are enjoying themselves. Windsor Day Tours is the result of that dream. If you are the type of person who enjoys organised tours but dislikes being part of a large crowd, or simply prefers not to have to worry about driving on ‘the wrong side’ and navigating, or simply wants to feel well looked after for the day, then you have come to the right place.
To be able to offer you these tours, I have obtained my private hire licence (driver and operator) which means I have successfully passed an enhanced driving test and complied with all relevant legislation to be registered with the local council to run my tours. I am registered with Hart District Council, Fleet, Hampshire.
The car is a top-of-the range Seat Alhambra which I bought in April 2016, capable of taking up to six passengers in comfort. Unlike many 7-seaters, the rear-most two seats are full-size. The car is comprehensively insured for private hire use, and I also have public liability insurance.
This, combined with over 20 years’ accident- and penalty-free driving means you can relax and enjoy the journey, knowing you are in safe hands.
But there is more to running a successful day tour business than just driving, and you can be assured of my personal attention to ensure you have an interesting and enjoyable tour with me.
This is my other half, Kevin, who is the computer whiz that built this website, and who kept me on the straight and narrow when I tried to add my parts, ignorant to style and formatting. If you find any parts of this website not working properly, let me know, and I’ll get Kevin to sort it out.
